🔍 What This Notice Means
You received a Tax Correction Notice from the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) because the state made changes to your originally filed Arizona income tax return. These changes usually happen when there’s a mismatch, missing credit form, or miscalculation—often resulting in a balance due, denied refund, or adjustments to previously claimed credits.
⚠️ Heads-Up: If ADOR disallows any part of your return, such as a missing
Form 301 Credit, you could lose out on valuable tax credits and owe a balance with interest.
📄 What’s Included in the Notice
This correction notice typically shows a side-by-side comparison of what you filed versus what ADOR recalculated. You’ll find:
- Taxpayer Calculations – What was originally reported on your return
- ADOR Calculations – What ADOR changed it to
- Reason Column – Indicates missing forms or math errors
- Credits Removed – Often due to missing Form 301 or misfiled amounts
- Penalties and Interest – Calculated based on underpayment or delay
- Total Amount Due – Includes all adjustments, interest, and fees
✅ What You Should Do
If you received this notice, here's what we need from you to help resolve it:
- Upload the full notice (all pages) to your Gbooks portal, or email it to your assigned relationship manager.
- Provide a copy of Arizona Form 301 that was originally included with your return (if available).
- Include the name of the charitable organization and the Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO/QFCO) code that was claimed on Form 301.
- Optional but recommended: If you made a donation online, include a copy or screenshot of the email confirmation or receipt showing the donation date, amount, and organization name. This helps us strengthen the case when replying to ADOR, especially since Arizona may deny the credit without it.
- Let us know whether you want us to file an amended return or if you’ll be paying the balance as-is.
If you choose to pay the balance:
- Make the payment directly at AZTaxes.gov
- Use Zoho Expense to upload the receipt so we can document your compliance in case of future audit
